This month we explore delivered chemicals and small groundwater system operations:
Course 1020.3 – Delivered Chemicals are Exactly as Specified
Course Pack 1020 – True Confessions of an Operator
This course pack addresses common chemical feed pitfalls in the water and wastewater treatment process. We lift the veil of chemical feed and see why chemical strength, pump calibration, product verification, and residual measurements are so important to conserve resources. The viewer will also explore common dosing mistakes and how to avoid them. Course materials include a lecture packet to download and print so the viewer can refer to it during each instructional video.
As Ronald Reagan said, “Trust but Verify.” Chemical feed pumps never vary, right? Simply set it and forget it. No way! In this course, we take a closer look and discover the variations of chemical feeds and optimal doses. Through visuals, examples, and animated instruction, you’ll learn about dosage calculations, test methods, pump settings, and much more about delivered chemicals.
Course 2019.1 – Pros and Cons
Course Pack 2019 – Alternative Disinfections
This course pack looks at chloramines in regards to colorimetric testing, typical reactions, and advantages and disadvantages. We will also travel deeper into the ozone system, looking at different components and chambers. Next we will cover UV to a full extent, and the effects on lamp efficiencies. Following that, we will look at controls necessary to keep everything in check. We will compare UV to Oxidizers, and how we can apply UV in all of our systems. Finally, we will address mixed oxidants and Ultrafiltration, before taking a quick review of the course. Course materials include a lecture packet to download and print so the viewer can refer to it during each instructional video.
In 2019.1, we take a look at chloramines in regards to colorimetric testing, typical reactions, and advantages and disadvantages. We will also dig into the Ozone and Pros and Cons of this.
