Welcome to Water Otter. Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using our platform. By creating an account, purchasing a membership, or accessing any part of our website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About Water Otter
Water Otter Inc (“Water Otter,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an online education platform providing continuing education unit (CEU) courses for water and wastewater industry professionals. We are incorporated in the State of Delaware, USA, with a registered address at:

2. Eligibility
To use Water Otter, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian
- Be a working professional, student, or individual with a legitimate interest in water and wastewater industry training
- Provide accurate and truthful information when registering an account
- Not be prohibited from receiving our services under applicable law
By using our platform, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Account Registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration
- Keep your password secure and not share it with any third party
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
Water Otter reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.
4. Memberships and Subscriptions
4.1 Membership Plans
Water Otter offers membership plans that provide access to our course library and community features. Available plans and pricing are listed on our Pricing page. Memberships are managed through MemberPress and are billed on the cycle indicated at the time of purchase (monthly or annual).
4.2 Free Memberships
Where a free membership tier is offered, it grants limited access to platform features as described on the Pricing page. Free members may not have access to all courses, CEU certificates, or community features.
4.3 Billing and Renewal
Paid memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You will receive notice of any upcoming renewal or pricing changes.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your membership at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to your membership benefits until that date.
4.5 Refunds
All purchases are subject to our Refund Policy. In general, refunds are not provided for partially used subscription periods. If you believe you are entitled to a refund due to a technical error or other exceptional circumstance, please contact us within 7 days of the charge.
5. Course Access and CEU Credits
5.1 Course Completion
Courses are available to members based on their subscription tier. You may access course materials for the duration of your active membership. Upon completing a course and passing any associated assessments, you may be eligible to receive a CEU certificate.
5.2 CEU Certificates
Water Otter issues CEU certificates based on course completion. It is your sole responsibility to verify whether the certificates issued by Water Otter are accepted by your licensing board, employer, or relevant regulatory authority. Water Otter does not guarantee acceptance by any specific state board or agency.
5.3 No Guarantee of Licensure
Completion of courses on Water Otter does not guarantee the renewal, issuance, or maintenance of any professional license or certification. We provide educational content only.
6. Community Features
Water Otter includes community features powered by BuddyBoss, including activity feeds, member profiles, groups, messaging, and the Industry News section. By participating in the community, you agree to:
- Be respectful and professional in all interactions
- Not post content that is offensive, discriminatory, harassing, or abusive
- Not share false or misleading information
- Not spam, solicit, or promote third-party services without prior written consent from Water Otter
- Not impersonate other users or public figures
Water Otter reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any member who violates these community standards, without prior notice.
7. Gamification and Rewards
Water Otter operates a points, coins, and ranking system (“Water Otter Ranks”) as part of the learning experience. Points and ranks are awarded based on course completions, community participation, and other platform activity.
Points, coins, and ranks hold no monetary value and cannot be transferred, sold, redeemed for cash, or exchanged for anything outside the platform. Water Otter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the gamification system at any time without liability.
8. Career Hub
The Career Hub is provided as a resource for water and wastewater professionals. Any job listings, resources, or third-party links found in the Career Hub are provided for informational purposes only. Water Otter does not guarantee employment outcomes, the accuracy of listings, or the reliability of any third-party employers featured.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Water Otter — including course videos, written materials, quizzes, graphics, logos, brand assets, and website design — is the intellectual property of Water Otter Inc or its content licensors, and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use course content for your own personal, non-commercial professional development only. You may not:
- Download, copy, reproduce, or redistribute course content
- Share your account credentials with others to provide access to paid content
- Use any Water Otter content for commercial purposes without prior written consent
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform
10. User-Generated Content
By posting content on the Water Otter platform (including community posts, comments, and profile information), you grant Water Otter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, share, and moderate that content as part of operating the platform.
You are solely responsible for the content you post. Water Otter does not endorse user-generated content and is not liable for any content posted by members.
11. Privacy
Your use of Water Otter is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the platform, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Third-Party Services
Water Otter integrates with third-party services including payment processors, email providers, and analytics tools. These services have their own terms and privacy policies, and Water Otter is not responsible for their practices. Your interactions with third-party services are at your own risk.
13. Disclaimers
THE WATER OTTER PLATFORM AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
WATER OTTER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT COURSE CONTENT IS CURRENT, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR LICENSING OR REGULATORY REQUIREMENT.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WATER OTTER INC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO WATER OTTER IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Water Otter Inc and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
16. Termination
Water Otter reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the platform or any portion of it. Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will do so.
17. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in the State of Delaware, unless you are located in a jurisdiction where such a requirement is not enforceable.

We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
