Course Description

This module provides Jar Testing Training focused on interpreting test results and converting laboratory data into accurate plant-wide chemical feed rates. Learners explore common calculation challenges, identify potential oversights, and apply practical techniques for improving simulation accuracy. Through this Jar Testing Training, operators gain the skills needed to evaluate treatment results, optimize chemical dosing decisions, and support effective water treatment operations.

Learning Objectives

1) Recognize signs of underdose, optimal dose, and overdose during alum and floc formation evaluation

2) Conduct and interpret pH, KMnOâ‚„ demand, and chlorine demand tests to determine water treatment needs

3) Use chemical feed rate formulas to convert jar test findings into dosing rates for plant operations

4) Apply best practices and troubleshooting to ensure accurate jar testing, sampling, and chemical dosing adjustments throughout the plant.

Agenda

1) pH and chemical demand tests in jar testing, including potassium permanganate and chlorine demand assessments

2) Translating Lab Results to Feed Rates

3) Troubleshoot jar testing processes

4) Correct chemical dosage for optimal treatment outcomes
