Course Pack: Plant And Chemical Safety
Disinfection Chemical Safety
Course Description
This module provides water sector professionals with a review of the safe handling, chemical safety, storage, and application of hypochlorite-based disinfection chemicals used in water and wastewater treatment. Learners will examine chemical properties, OSHA exposure considerations, incompatibility hazards, and real-world incident case studies to reinforce risk based decision making. The module also covers first aid protocols, ventilation and PPE requirements, and emergency preparedness expectations to support compliance with safety standards and protect personnel, facilities, and public health.
