Course Description
This module equips utility personnel with the essential skills required to earn and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification while responding effectively to workplace medical emergencies. Learners gain hands-on knowledge in managing cardiac arrest, choking, severe bleeding, shock, heat stress, and chemical exposure. The training covers CPR techniques, AED operation, bleeding-control methods, and stabilizing care procedures until emergency medical services arrive. Scenario-based exercises reinforce accurate patient assessment, safe response actions, and proper incident documentation in accordance with facility protocols and industry best practices.
Learning Objectives
1) Provide immediate care for cardiac arrest, choking, and severe bleeding.
2) Use AEDs, tourniquets, and pressure dressings appropriately.
3) Stabilize injuries common to utility environments until EMS arrives.
4) Recognize heat stress, chemical exposure, and shock symptoms.
