HAZWOPER
Course Description
HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) Training Course is designed to provide water and wastewater professionals with essential knowledge and skills for safely working in environments where hazardous substances may be present. This course follows OSHA HAZWOPER guidelines and focuses on protecting workers, the public, and the environment during hazardous waste operations and emergency response activities.
Learners will study key topics including hazard recognition, chemical exposure risks, personal protective equipment (PPE), site safety and control measures, decontamination procedures, emergency response planning, and safe work practices. The course also emphasizes regulatory compliance, incident reporting, and proper handling of hazardous materials commonly encountered in utility and industrial settings.
By the end of the course, participants will understand how to identify hazards, apply safety protocols, and respond effectively to hazardous situations while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and maintaining a safe working environment.
